LFA World Futurity/Maturity/Claims Judging Criteria:
2019 Novice Futurity
The Novice Futurity was implemented by the 2018 LFA board and was a complete success. It was designed to encourage and educate those exhibitors who do not feel confident competing in the high stakes of the 2018 World Futurity. The same classes as the regular World Futurity will be offered in the novice format, with the addition of a Gelding class. On Saturday evening our judge will evaluate each animal in the same show ring format and by the same judging criteria as the World Futurity Classes, but will spend additional time in the ring educating exhibitors about their animal's strengths, suggestions on fitting them for show, and tips on handling in the futurity ring. Each class will be placed down to 6th and all entry monies will be paid back to the exhibitors in jackpot format. We hope that by offering these classes, exhibitors will be able to experience futurity style judging in a comfortable and educational format. All llamas entered in the LFA Novice Futurity are STILL ELIGIBLE to compete in the 2018 World Futurity on Sunday.
Additional Information:

2019 Claims Futurity
The Claims Futurity is meant to provide LFA members the opportunity to market their young males 5 months and over of any fiber type or coverage. The entry fee is $100 per llama and NO COMMISSION will be charged. These consignments will be included in the LFA catalog along with the regular sale animals.
Claims males will be on display all weekend and buyers may "claim" their selected male for the price listed by the consignor at any time over the course of the weekend. The males will compete against each other in two separate futurity classes on Saturday, June 24th and the top three winners in each class will receive significant payouts. The males entered are typically high quality animals from proven pedigrees who often times have accomplished their own impressive show records or already have champion offspring on the ground. Judging criteria will be the same as the World Futurity.
A review of the claims entrants' pedigrees and a hands on inspection will be offered for each division on Friday evening during the LFA/ILR Social Hour. A final hands on opportunity will be provided before the placing of each class on Saturday.
Payouts will be split between the consignee and claimant ONLY if the male is reported claimed to the LFA before the placing of the class. In the event the male is not claimed before the placing of the class, the consignor will receive all prize monies.
The claims futurity sale will be on a private treaty basis and DNA testing will not be required. The LFA is not responsible for the genetic parentage of the claims entries.
Payouts will be 70% for first, 20% for second, and 10% for third place, based upon entry fees.
Ribbons will be awarded to sixth place.
Claims male classes as listed in the catalog:
Claims Class 1) All Intact Males 5 months of age and up. (Must be born after 1/30/18)

This is a wonderful opportunity to show off and market your mature breeding llamas, male and/or female. Ribbons will be awarded to sixth place.
Judging criteria will be the same as the World Futurity. Payouts will be determined by the LFA board based upon the number of class entrants. Class winners will be eligible to compete for the World Futurity Best of Show.
